Literacy and Community | A Diverse Market

"Reading is our first and most basic educational process. From kindergarten through third grade, children learn to read. Thereafter, they read to learn."

The 90% Reading Goal

As Book Show, Inc. Founder Mimi Lieber was working with families through her non-profit literacy organization, she often heard children and parents asking “Where are the books?”

Assuring that parents and grandparents have a friendly, recognizable way to find high quality books where they shop every day has been a major challenge to children’s literacy. At the same time, a vast amount of research, including studies by the U.S. Department of Education, has documented the link between books in the home and future reading success.

The Book Show™ has developed a unique product that incorporates a positive social impact into a profitable business model. Put simply, it makes it easy for consumers to buy books by bringing the product right to their communities.

The Book Show™ is a "Double Bottom Line" business; a for-profit company that serves children and families. Structuring The Book Show™ as a business, managed by individuals with experience in consumer branding and book distribution, will allow the company to achieve a scale of impact on young readers that cannot be matched by existing government and non-profit literacy programs.
